The Nike SB Dunk Low "High Hair," released in 2005, was inspired by the popularity of Aqua Net Hair Spray and 80s high haircuts in New Jersey. Designed by Nike SB and three employees at NJ Skate Shop, this sneaker pays tribute to musician Jon Bon Jovi, who hails from Sayreville, New Jersey. Initially released on March 2, 2006, Bon Jovi's birthday, the shoes first sold at NJ Skate Shop before being made available at other shops a week later.
